I stamped at last!

I finally got to stamp some last night. I only made one card, but that is a start! This is for Lauren's Saturday sketch. My Mom played along too. We are off to some bull riding tonight in St. Louis so the kids are super excited. We have goals to get the house back in order before we leave so we'll see if that happens or not. I've already been doing some laundry this morning, but took a break to make this post! Hope all of you have a great weekend! I may be back if time allows, but next week is very hectic as we head to St. Louis 3 days for scans for Ethan. We are all very anxious and worried, but we just keep praying that all will be okay. Thanks for stopping by.

More from Texas

We are back home, but it's been crazy since we returned. Ethan needed blood when we arrived in St. Louis on Monday around 6:00 pm and we were at the hospital until after midnight and didn't get home until 4:00 am.....needless to say it has taken us most of the week to recouperate. I haven't gotten to stamp a single thing. I did have stamp club Tuesday night though. Thought I would share a couple photos from our last day in Fort Worth. Ethan got his shoes all shined up and Ava actually got up on the bull with me! I'll hopefully get to stamp some tonight for Lauren's Saturday sketch......until then!

A Big Texas Hello from "COW TOWN"!

Well, no sketch to share today, but I can say that we are having a wonderful time on our family vacation in Texas. We just got in from the Fort Worth Rodeo and what fun it was! We've had some very fun filled days here in Texas. The first day we were here the kids hadn't gotten to bed until around midnight, so needless to say, they were extremely tired the next day. We ventured out to the Main Street in Grapevine to see what they had to offer and we found some options where we could possibly go horse back riding. The kids needed a nap so bad, so we spent the afternnon napping and Dave and I got to take walks around the camp yards as it was over 70 out. Then we went in the evening to the playground and the kids loved that. We headed for supper at a local BBQ place and I can't say enough about it.....oh my were we full!

Yesterday we went horse back riding in the morning and then to a drive through safari in the afternoon/early evening. It was really fun, especially the ostriches that reached their head compeletly into our vehicle and grabbed the bag of food. It scared us! We got to see so many animals and we even got to feed the giraffes from our car. Today we saw a cattle drive and made it to the rodeo this evening. During the afternoon we took a train ride too. The kids don't know how lucky they have it to go on a trip like this and be doing so much.

Tomorrow we plan to do more of the same, cattle drives, rodeo and more eating! We have stuffed our faces down here.....I hate to jump on the scale when we get home!

Now aren't these pictures priceless! Have a great weekend!

You're a Hoot!

I got a card made for PTI's challenge yesterday, but ran out of time to get it uploaded. I chose a color combination off of Dawn McVey's website. I used Dark Chocolate, Kraft, and Wild Wasabi.....I love these colors together. I used my Wise Owl set from PTI for the background, owl and sentimnt. I won the entire package last year on Nichole's blog.....that was such a surprise! Hope you enjoy. I'm going to try and get a picture of my Valentine Day card from my Mom and post it. She made a really cute little basket with some stamped hearts in it too. I just got my little girl down for a nap, so now it's time to get packing or Texas!

Ahoy Sailor!

I've been MIA all week, but I'm back now! It's been a crazy week of work, hospital visit, and just plain old family stuff. I was home today and it was a well needed day here at home with the kiddos. We are gearing up for a trip to Texas next week with ouf family. We can't wait. Ethan has wanted to go to Texas for a long time now and his dream is coming true next week! I can't wait to see his eyes light up when he sees all of the cowboys down there.
Thought I would make a card for Lauren's sketch and for PTI Guest Star stamper all in one. I've been needing to spend some time with the family and haven't stamped until today. This set is Bitty Baby Blessings and it's one of my all time favorite PTI sets. They have a new release coming out this Sunday.....it looks like a good one. For my card I used Pure Poppy and Aqua Mist. I added some "waves" with my scallop edge punch....I like that little detail.
Hope all of you are having a wonderful start to your weekend. We are going to be planning and packing for Texas. I may have one more post to share before I head south, so I'll be MIA all next week! Thanks for stopping by!

PTI Bitty Dot Challenge & Lauren's Saturday Sketch....All In One (Kind of)

A "very" quick post.....it's 4 something in the morning, but we leave at 8:30 to start our weekend, so no better time than early morning to stamp right?!? I wanted to do both cards, but I need a little sleep too :-) I tried to combine both into one and this is what I came up with! I absolutely love PTI Rasberry Fizz paper. It's just so cheery and bright! Wouldn't today's prize package be awesome! If any of you know me, I hardly ever make a card without ribbon! I kept saying to myself as I was reading Nichole's Blog this "early" morning....oh, just go back to bed, you don't have to do every single challenge....but the thought of possibly winning that ribbon and the saying goes, you can't win if you don't play! So, I played! Hope everyone has a great weekend. Our kids are doing good and we are taking them to a place called Fun City with 4 other couples and their kiddos......we can't wait! There is an indoor water park and Ethan keeps saying that we are heading to the beach......I hope he isn't disappointed that there isn't any sand! Thanks for stopping by!

Check out the other gals creations too!

OVER THE RAINBOW CHALLENGE

The kids are napping and I thought I could take a little "me

time". I now have to go do laundry....my most dreaded household task! The card is very simple, but really shows off the color scheme. I used the Heart Prints set for the sentiment. I wish I had one of those nestibilities that punched out the ribbon tag, but I just improvised and used my slot punch on each end and it seemed to work just fine. I'm off....I have to quit procrastinating doing this laundry!!! I'll be back tomorrow morning with Lauren's sketch!

Thinking Spring....Blue Butterflies and Green Grass

Oh how I wish the cold days of winter were through. I drew a sketch of my card and I think it actually came out the exact same way that my sketch looked.....that doesn't happen very often! I got to play with two new sets that I've had for a little while, just no time to play with them. I used Flight of the Butterfly, Inspired by Nature, and Stem Sayings, all from Stampin' Up! I love this color combo.....Certainly Celery and Tempting Torquoise. I got some new celery grossgrain ribbon that I love too! Notice my stiching along the edge of my card. Well, I got my sewing machine out to use the other night and it wouldn't work. I guess it comes in handy to be married to a mechanical engineer! (Please don't tell him I said that!) :-) He fixed my sewing machine.....yeah! So I'm sure I'll be playing with it a lot more often now that it is fixed! This is where I got my inspiration for this card!

Take a look at my sketches too. I have 2 drawn so hopefully I'll get to those in the next few days! I'd love to see what you can come up with for my sketch that I did today. Just leave me a message so I can take a look. Thanks for stopping by!!

My New Tree and Ava's "mask"

I have been wanting this tree from SU since I first saw it in their Decor Elements line. I finally got it yesterday and I inked it up quickly before I headed to the hospital with Ethan. This set is called "Thoughts and Prayers" and the images and sayings are wonderful. I bought the Decor Elements tree too for Ava's room and it is so pretty. I'll add a picture of it so you can see. Ava is standing in front of it with her breathing mask from when she was doing breathing treatments for RSV last week. She thought she was such a big girl walking around her room with her mask on! I'm going to add a saying to her wall that says May all your DREAMS come true! It's a quick post as I've been gone all day or Ethan's check up and I'm back to work tomorrow. Life is always busy and crazy around here!

Birthday Card Box

I FINALLY got my Birthday Card Box made. I got the idea from Lauren Meader. She has step by step instructions. You can purchase her All Boxed Up Template from PTI. They are fun and easy to use. I decided to us my favorite PTI set, Green Thumb. The colors are from SU, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, and Close to Cocoa. I love this color combo and the strawberry is just too cute. This project takes a little while to complete, but it looks so cute sitting on my work space and holds all of my birthday cards for the year.....what a great idea.

Here's a look from teh front. I think this would make a great gift for anyone. If I can find the time to do it, so can you!!! I'm very excited to hear all of the new things going on at PTI this year. Be sure to check out Nichole's blog. There are a lot of great prizes being given away.

I haven't updated about my son for a little while and thought I would. He's doing great. He is taking a new oral med and seems to be tolerating it very well. We are very pleased that he is on this new drug and hope and pray that it keeps his disease in check or completely rids him of it. Thanks so much to all of you that say so many kind words and prayers for our little guy. I really appreciate it. Have a great Monday!

Lily and LOVE Challenge

I just adore Pink Cat Studio's Lily and Billy. They are just too cute and remind me so much of my kids. I think that is why I like them so much. There is a DT challenge called LOVE and your creation has to be made with the letters from the word, i.e. L - Lily, O - Ovals, V - Valentine, E - Eggplant Envy. That is what I used for mine....what do you think??

I'll be back tomorrow with my Birthday Card box. This took me a while to complete, but I love how it turned out!

While Dav'es away......I go to Hobby Lobby!

Dave and the oldest two went to the cold Homecoming football game.  So Em and I decided to eat supper with my parents and make a trip to Hob...
