Splash of Color Challenge

It's time for Lauren's Color Challenge! Above is a sneak peak of everyone's projects for this week. This was a fun set of colors to combine. The colors I chose were all from PTI, Rasberry Fizz, Summer Sunshine, Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist, and Spring Moss. The first thing I wanted to use was a strawberry from one of my favorite PTI sets: Green Thumb. This is one of the most versatile sets. Below is our list of colors to incorporate in our card for this week.

Here is what I came up with. This card looks so summery to me. I even got out my needle and thread and sewed a little button on it.

On the home front.....life has been so stressful. Ethan still doesn't feel good and today marks 4 weeks of this. It's more than frustrating to him and to us. The doctor wants us to try cutting back on his meds and see if that helps a bit....I sure hope it does because we miss seeing our bubbly Ethan. We did take him to the new movie Night at the Museum 2 this afternoon and he seemed to like it, but after it was over he really felt bad. We just keep plugging along.....one day at a time. We're looking forward to a relaxing weekend here at home. We do have to make a trip to the hospital tomorrow for Ethan to get some platelets, but hopefully that will be all of the hospital fun for one weekend. Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to stop by and see the other gals creations!

Butterflies with Bling!

I just got through making this card with my new butterfly nestabilities....I love them. I made this for our pstor and his wife for their 25th anniversary. I really love this color combination. I needed a little stamping to get me back on track...it's been a long weekend here at our house with our son. He hasn't felt good now in over 3 weeks and it is wearing on all of us. I feel really bad for him because I'm sure he wants nothing more than to feel like his old self too.
Back to my card.....I used a couple of my new PTI sets, Life and Damask Designs. I also used my other new nestability for the background...I can't remember the name and I'm trying to get the kiddos down for a nap. The background paper is from PTI too. Hope you enjoy. I'll be back this week with more as time allows. We've been heading to the hospital every 3rd day to get platelets for our son, so we haven't had a lot of down time lately. I need to take a calgon bath....think it would help?

Back to Stampin! (and other news)

Hope you noticed my new picture at the top of the page. That was taken today out by our tulips. The kids planted these last fall and are so proud that they grew! We were outside getting ready to play ball, but I made the kids sit for a "photo shoot" first! All is going fairly well here. Ethan has been having pain in his legs and his back, but he keeps trucking along and we keep trying whatever there is to make things better. I think that the longer this goes on, the harder it gets....seems odd, but you just wish you could do so much more. We're enjoying life though and are really loving the wonderful spring weather that has hit our area.

On a stamping note, I'm going to get back into Lauren's Saturday challenges, so you'll be seeing a creation from me at least once a week...I can't promise more, but I'll try. I needed a little "pick me up" so I decided to get motivated and try this again. She has mixed things up a bit and I think you will like it.

On a "family note", we have some big news to share. I'm pregnant and we will be expecting our third little bundle of joy on Nov 28th. We are very excited and the kids are too. Ethan says it is a boy and Ava says it is a girl. Either way we are just wanting a happy and healthy little one. As if life isn't crazy enough!
On Monday, my husband saved a baby kitty from a tree in our yard. I guess the Mama either moved it there or decided that a tree would be a nice place to have her

kitten! Here are some pics of the kiddos with the newest animal on our "farm"......see you back here on Saturday!

Life Update

Thought I would update since I haven't done so in a while. We've been fairly busy here at our house. We had Ava's party a few weeks ago now and then it just seems like the time flies. We didn't get the news that we wanted on Ethan's scans, so we are pluggin away this week and starting a new drug that came out. We pray that this one works. It's kind of our "plan B" as his platelets were too low to start the one we really wanted him on. We just take things a day at a time. Ethan is doing very well. He definitely doesn't run like he used to, but he has no complaints and isn't in any pain. He's actually taken up a new hobby....fishing. Our good friend has taken him twice now in our neighbor's pond. It has been so fun for him. The pond is loaded so basically all you have to do is drop in a line and you have a fish! Here are some pictures from that day.

I haven't been doing much stamping at all, I'm fighting a cold right now so I haven't really felt up to it. I have stamp club this week so I better get busy....that is usually the only thing I stamp for nowadays. I get such nice little notes from everyone and I really appreciate them. We just have been keeping busy with doing everyday things and I haven't really had a lot of time to post lately.

Hope all of you are having a good weekend....it is a rainy one where we live, but supposed to be sunny and in the 70's this week! Til next time!

A big hello from our "Little Ass"!

I wanted to update everyone that has been sending prayers and well wishes our way. Ethan is still doing great.....THANK GOD! We see no signs or symptoms and we are so thankful for that. We've really been having a lot of fun, fitting all sorts of things into our days. Ethan got his new horse, Questions, on Thursday when he got home from school. Ethan received his horse, Sonador, last Sept from Make-a-wish, but he died the Monday before Christmas and we promised we would get Ethan a new horse. It just so happened that my uncle out in Colorado went to the vet that very day and they were getting ready to retire their daughter's horse that was a show horse and did all sorts of English riding and jumping. The horse's name is Questions because of the marking on her nose. My Dad and a couple other guys drove 15 hours to pick up Questions last week and arrived home with her on Wed night around 12:30. The first thing I thought of when I saw her was "All our Questions have been answered!"

Friday we just hung out around our house and put together a new jungle gym....a little early for my Ava girl's birthday coming up. Then on Sat we went on a horse back ride. That was fun. Ethan had a great time. We even got to go to a friends house on Sat to play Wii and Ethan loved it. Sunday though was a real highlight! My uncle got us a cart to put on our minature burrow. It is sooo cute. My husband and my dad hooked it up yesterday. The harness and cart didn't come with any instructions, so it was quite a site watching my dad and my husband figure it all out. I'm an engineer, my husband is an engineer and my dad is too, so the joke was "How many engineers does it take to hook a cart up to a little ass?" It was really funny.

Here's a couple pictures of our new horse and cart. I have a funny story to share from Ethan. On Sat while we were horse back riding, Ethan was asking his Daddy all sorts of questions about how horses grow so fast and how big they get. My husband told him that maybe sometime we could get Dusty bred so she could have a little baby. That was about all that was said and when we got back home and I was taking Ethan inside for lunch, he asked me, " Mommy, after lunch can we take some bread out for Dusty so she can have babies?" He was quite serious about the whole thing!

Thanks so much for all the thoughtful cards, notes, and prayers. I appreciate each and everyone of them. I may be taking a break from stamping, but we are still living life to the fullest around here. Hope you enjoy my new pictures as much as I do.

Waiting and Praying!

We are home.....I know some of you follow this site for my "stamping", but some also follow my son's progress as well. Ethan had several tests/scans today. He had a cat scan, bone marrow biopsies and a MIBG scan. We don't know anything yet, so as my title says, we are "Waiting and Praying!" These tests tell us what our next steps are. Right now we have tickets to head to Philadelphia next week, but that can change in the blink of an eye. Our lives are always subject to change at the last minute. Hopefully we'll know something tomorrow. We just keep praying for good results!

I don't have any cards or scrapbook pages to share. I do have a few pages that I haven't taken any pictures of yet....just haven't had time this week. I did get to stop off at Michaels on the way home this evening and got a new stamp set....it's so cute. I can't wait to play with it. I'm sure I'll be stamping some tomorrow....it definitely helps to keep my mind off of things.

I'll be back on Satuday morning with Lauren's sketch. What do you think of me making scrapbook pages or are you wanting to see more cards? Thanks for stopping by!

While Dav'es away......I go to Hobby Lobby!

Dave and the oldest two went to the cold Homecoming football game.  So Em and I decided to eat supper with my parents and make a trip to Hob...
