Baby Elephant!

This is my take on Beate's weekend sketch. http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ It didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it too. I got the elephant ribbon at Archiver's today along with the brads. I was wanting something new to play with here at the hospital. We're getting very bored, but boring is good, especially when Ethan is doing good. I tried using a color that I don't use much, cameo coral. I think it looks great on this baby card so I might have to try using it more.

This ribbon is really neat. It has adhesive on the back so it was really easy to apply and it sticks well. This is what I needed for my Valentine mail boxes! Hope you enjoy! I'm sure I'll make more cards this weekend. We don't have any company coming as Ava is sick and so is one of Ethan's Papa. The hospital is really quiet on the weekend so we'll have to be creative to keep Ethan busy.

Happy Easter!

Oh I just love this set "A Good Egg". I used another favorite too, brown satin ribbon. We're still in the hospital with Ethan, but it's amazing what you can do with paper and some ribbon. I thought this card would be really cute with stitching around the chick. I'll have to try that when we get home.

Ethan update: He is asleep right now taking a little nap. He's had a really good day and was up by 8:00 and played all day. He's a little crabby with the nurses and doctors, but I think I would be too. Hopefully by this weekend he will start getting some counts so his mouth sores will start healing from all the chemo. He doesn't act like it phases him one bit though.

Thanks for taking a look at my cards. Tomorrow I'm hoping to do a brighter colored card using the "Pun Fun" set again.

Spring is Near!

I attempted to make a card for Jen del Muro's sketch challenge. http://iheart2stamp.com/ I wanted to use the new set "A Good Egg" from Stampin' Up! I also used more of my rub-ons from the Sale-a-bration! Still limited on supplies here in the hospital, but that makes me be more creative. I'm anxious to have my sewing machine back.

Ethan is sleeping the day away. He was awake from about 11:00 until around 3:00 or so. He should be waking up soon. Maybe we can do something fun this evening if he is up to it. I'll take an uneventful day anyday. So I spent most of the day making cards. It helps to keep my mind off of things. This card is simple, but I love tulips and they remind me of spring. We can't wait for spring to get here!

"Pun Fun"

I just got this new stamp set "Pun Fun" from Stampin' Up! It's really cute and versatile. I tried to make a card by casing two in one. Take a look at the samples from the catalog and you can see what parts I took from both cards. As I said I'm limited on supplies here in the hospital, but I think it turned out pretty good. I didn't have any brad so I just punched small holes to see through to the orange and then cut a strip of the torquoise to go behind the middle hole. Hope you enjoy!

Here is the latest picture of my two kiddos. This was taken today in the hospital today! Aren't they precious

Chicky, You Crack Me Up!

Our daughter's nickname is "Chicky" so I had to have this stamp! I tried a sketch over the weekend from http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ . This is the first "sketch" I've ever tried. This is from Stampin Up!'s new set "A Good Egg"

While Dav'es away......I go to Hobby Lobby!

Dave and the oldest two went to the cold Homecoming football game.  So Em and I decided to eat supper with my parents and make a trip to Hob...
