Back in the Hospital....BLUES!

So the "new" news is that Ethan is back in the hospital with a fever. I'm up right now with him because he was running a temp about an hour ago and I have to keep an eye on him.....it's just a Mommy thing I guess. Dave is sleeping soundly on the couch and I am sleeping by my little boy. During transplant I couldn't stay in the same bed with him so this has been nice to be able to do so this time. Everything was going well today and he made it through his radiation treatments fine and then once we got on the road and were only about 5 minutes from the hospital, Ethan started to get the chills and his head was hurting and he was just overall not feeling well. So we turned the van around and headed straight back to the clinic to get checked out and once we got there his head was hurting worse and this really worried me. I was very stern about seeing a doctor right away and within 20 minutes they had Ethan hooked up to IV antibiotics. So we are here for a minimum of 48 hours. They have cultured both of his lines and we won't know if they grow anything for 24 hours from when they drew them. Oh the fun of waiting. One never knows what turns life will take. I thought we were on our way home to pick up my little Chicky, Ava and head home for the day. Little did I know.

So....no stamping supplies with me here at the hospital. I don't even have my camera to post pics. I know not many follow my blog, but this seems like a good spot to vent.....kind of like a place I can go to and I don't really know who is listening, but at least I can get things off of my chest! Ethan is really hating being here, but hopefully the time will pass quickly and we'll be home before the weekend. Please keep Ethan in your prayers. He will continue to finish up with his radiation treatments this week. I'm thankful that we'll be able to keep those on schedule.

I always keep Ethan's website updated if you want to keep up with our little guy. Just go to www.caringbridge.org Login: ethanweiman

Thanks for taking time to check in. One of my favorite companies, Papertrey Ink, is getting ready for their new release party on the 15th. So I've been following Nichole Heady's blog....look on my blog links. I love her purse idea and can't wait to get home to try one.

Remember to enjoy each and everyday!

Hi Alicia,

I thought I'd check out your blog and sure enough you posted today. Really hate to hear about the infection in Ethan's lines, but thank goodness you
were close and could get it checked out. As you said in your CB journal, "it's just a bump in the road" and we're saying prayers that everything clears up soon. BTW...checked out Nichole Heady's blog...love the purse and the directions are so explicit I think I can make one. Very cute!

Have a good day and praying for you guys!

Shirley

There's a couple of us who follow your blog! I'm glad you feel like you can vent a little here. Still can't believe the number of hits your CB journal gets. Saw the card you sent me in one of your earlier posts. So cute. Hope Ethan has continued to be without fever today. Cheryl

Oh, Alicia. I'm so sorry to read this. :( But hopefully it was just something minor, and I'm glad you were still close enough to the hospital that you didn't get home then have to turn around and drive all the way back. You and Ethan and your gang are always in my prayers. {{{Alicia!}}}

While Dav'es away......I go to Hobby Lobby!

Dave and the oldest two went to the cold Homecoming football game.  So Em and I decided to eat supper with my parents and make a trip to Hob...
