Just for You Ava!

As those of you that read my blog know that my Ava Girl loves kitties. I found this Sizzlits die from Archivers on my shopping trip and thought I would give it a whirl on my cuttlebug. It works like a charm. I'm so excited because I know that SU has several dies for the Big Shot that I would love to have, but I didn't want another die cut machine. I'm thrilled that these work on my cuttlebug.
I made this card for Ava "just because". You know how I posted pictures of Ava with her new little kitty Lilly Rose, well, we can't find her. We let the kitty sleep out in the barn on the 4th night after we got her and we think that some wild animal must have gotten her in the middle of the night. Ava was very upset, but now she just wants another kitty.

I love how the card turned out. I cut the kitty out twice, once out of white and then again out of PTI's Berry Sorbet. I used some Lemon Tart polka dot paper from PTI to accent my card. The button and ribbons are from PTI as well. I love this company and all of their products and designs. I'm hoping that I can work something up for the Guest Designer contest yet this month....that is on my "to do" list for tomorrow. I haven't submitted anything for that in a very long time and I used to strive to get something submitted every month.

I gave Ava her card and I asked if I could take a picture of it and she instantly said, okay....I'll hold it for you on the stairs!

It's been a month now since our Ethan went to heaven. We've definitely had our ups and downs. I say that we try to get back to normal, but I'm slowly learning that life has drastically changed and there will always be a large void without our son. I'm very lucky though that we have a ton of memories, pictures, and videos to remember him by. One thing that I'm so glad that I did is to have a word document to write down all of the things that my kids do throughout the years. I started this when Ethan was a baby and now I have it for the last 4 1/2 years. I will treasure this forever and I have hopes to compile all of this with my pictures in a picture book. I do scrapbook a ton and have several books of my kids, but I want to make a book at Wal-Mart that I can print more than one copy of that will share pictures and stories of my son's life. It's going to take a while to complete, but I think I'm ready to start.

Hope all of you have a great start to your week.

So great to see your wonderful work again. You are amazing and deserve a great big hug. Poor Ava. Hope she finds another kitten soon. The card is darling and she looks adorable holding it!
Happy Day!

What a cute card and that smile on Ava's face is just priceless! I know how it is to loose a kitten - because my parents have a farm and we grew up with having cute kittens around and sometimes they disappeared due to some wild animal. Great idea you have with the book about Ethan. As you say - life will never get back to normal - how could it - you've lost a precious cute little man - but thanks to Ava - you know that you need to go on and life will be different - but Ethan will watch over you all. Bless you and Ethan has touched lifes outside of your family - just with you writing about this cute little man. It's like we all know him even if we haven't met him in real life. Kramis - Anki

What a cute card Alicia! Aren't those Hello Kitty dies the best?! Sorry to hear about the kitten. Nature can be pretty rough at times. We had a momma and six ducklings take over our backyard last week. An owl came out each night for four nights and took a duckling each time. By the time we got down to two ducklings we decided to catch them and take them to a rescue - so sad.

OMG...how adorable can Ava get? Seriously...cuter and cuter each time I see her :O) Love her little polka dotted dress and the huge grin as she poses holding her card. Which was such a sweet idea btw (and the card is so precious!). I'm sooo sorry to hear about your kitty :( That's so sad. I hope you find another one for Ava girl.

Again I wish we were neighbors or something...maybe you could inspire me to finish up some of my scrapbooks. I'm the queen of starting them, but the finishing part...well, that's another story. You're such a great mom. I'm glad you are a fanatic photographer :O) It's wonderful to think of all the memories you've preserved for life. I hope you're able to finish your photo book of Ethan. I would love to view an online version when you finish (if they have one).

I think about you often and also about sweet Ethan. I miss hearing your fun stories about him and his silliness. I pray you find peace knowing that you have the most amazing cowboy-guardian angel anyone could ever dream of having...watching over you, Dave, Ava and the baby every day :)

In my prayers, friend.

Alicia you probably already know this but in case ... my daughter-in-law gave me a book for Christmas she made of my granddaughters which she compiled at snapfish.com. It came with a beautiful cover. It's a treasure to behold. I know she had two copies made one for each grandmother. I know whatever you put together in memory of Ethan will be beautiful, just like the child he was. Remember "normal now is not the normal you knew at one time, it's the new normal you are trying to create for you, your husband and Ava". You take care. My heart goes out to you even though we are perfect strangers. Sandy from MD

Alicia,

Wow how funny!!!! I just bought this die at Archivers on Sunday myself. I have the big shot and not the Cuttle Bug but my friend Emily and SU downline has the cuttle but and not the big shot. she can use most of the dies inclucing all that are the same size as the top note in her cuttle bug hope that helps you know what you can order!!!

I love your Hello Kitty Card so super cute!!!

Kristen sent me your address and I will be mailing off the card I made when I did the Pink Cat Studio give a way to help raise money for MAW in Ethans name with the Wieman Wranglers and Ethan's RED Barn to you soon!!!

I am so horrible at getting things in the mail like I would like to but I will be getting that out to you and maybe now I can make Ava girl another Hello Kitty Card to my little girls would love to do that with me!!!!

Emelia's Frozen Party

Emelia's 4th birthday was all about Frozen like every other little girl turning 4!  She just loves to sing and dance to all the songs.  Here is her invitation.  She loved it!
A friend of mine showed me how to make cookies with royal icing. I love this new hobby abc I've been getting better at my detail work. Like I needed another hobby, but what the heck!  The kids love to help make the cookies too!

Emelia Rose is 2!

My how time flies! Our darling little Emelia Rose is 2 already. Where has the time gone?  She is solo sweet and funny and did I mention adorable too! Her signature pigtails just add to her cute little personality.

One of my favorite things she does now is every night at bedtime I put her in her bed and she says in her sweet little voice,"Sweep in my window!" She loves for us to lay in her window seat while she is getting to sleep! Now if we could only get her to stay asleep in her bed all night!

These are her two year highlights!

Favorite foods: only have found a couple she doesn't like, cantelope and chicken. Otherwise she eats everything on her plate and yours too!

Loves to carry around a purse

Wears her pigtails with her bows!

Loves to do things "myself!"

Still likes to have a bottle at night night time.

Gives the best hugs and kisses!

Loves her little kitten Dakota and carries her around all of the time! She likes to smoosh her in the back of her trike!

Prayer Request

As some of you know that follow my blog our son, Ethan, has cancer and he relapsed last August. I am saddened to say that Ethan's cancer has progressed and we did not receive a very good report from his Doctor. He is still feeling great and you can't see any signs of this physically, but we don't know what the future holds. So I will be taking a "break" from my stamping blog. I'm sure all of you understand that I'm needed elsewhere right now! Thanks to all of you that check in and for all your kind words. This will definitely be the hardest thing I've ever had to go through in my life. So go hug your kiddos and live each day to the fullest! Please keep my Ethan and our family in your prayers! GOD BLESS!
